Monarch Bay sits on the water at the San Leandro Marina. Our Private Banquet Room seats 60. Our Scenic Patio seats 70, outdoors, looking across the golf course to the bay. The kitchen is on site, which means the room conversation and the catering conversation are the same conversation, with the same person.

Indoors, private, and yours for the night. This is the room for a sit-down dinner, a milestone birthday, a retirement party, a rehearsal dinner, a celebration of life, or a business luncheon.
Round tables, a buffet line, or one long table down the middle. Tell us the shape of the evening and we will set it that way.
Scenic Patio, Seats Up to 70
Outdoors, looking over the golf course. This is the space for events where people move around: a cocktail reception, a graduation party, a summer luncheon, or the part of a tournament that happens after the last putt drops.
Late afternoon is when this space earns its name.

We host celebrations of life, and we know a family planning one is usually working on short notice with very little energy left over. Call us and we will get through the whole thing in one conversation.
Catering by The Landing
The Landing at Monarch Bay is our restaurant, and it caters every event on the property. There is no outside catering contract to negotiate, no second vendor to coordinate with, and no gap between the person who books your room and the person who plans your menu.
Buffet or plated. Passed appetizers. A custom menu if what you want is not already on ours. Hosted or no-host bar.
What We Handle
Room setup, arranged the way you want it rather than the way it was left. Menu planning, with someone who knows what the kitchen does well. A timeline for the evening, so you know when food comes out and when the toasts happen. Vendor access for anyone you are bringing in.

How many people can Monarch Bay hold for an event?
Our Private Banquet Room seats up to 60 guests indoors, and our Scenic Patio seats up to 70 outdoors. Many events use both, with dinner inside and drinks on the patio. If your group falls between two spaces, call us at (510) 895-2162 and we will tell you honestly which one fits.
Do you handle the food, or do I bring a caterer?
We handle it. The Landing at Monarch Bay is our on-site restaurant and it caters every event here, buffet or plated, with passed appetizers and custom menus available. That means one point of contact for the room and the food instead of two. You can see the kitchen's everyday menu on our menu page.
How far in advance should I book?
Book as early as you can for a weekend date, especially between spring and early fall, when the patio is at its best and weekend dates fill first. Weekday events are far easier to place on short notice. If you have a date in mind, send it over and we will tell you within the day whether it is open.
Is there parking?
Yes. Monarch Bay has its own lot at 13800 Monarch Bay Drive, and it is free. Your guests will not be circling a garage or feeding a meter.
Can I see the space before I book?
Yes, and you should. Tours take about fifteen minutes, and we will set the room roughly the way your event would run so you are looking at your event rather than an empty room. Use the form on this page or call (510) 895-2162.
